ABC's of a Godly Home - Day E

Day E- Expect and Examine

Spiritual Challenge Day E- Expect failures. Psalm 73:26 tells us "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." We are only human, we will fail and do you know what? That is okay. Just pick yourself back up and start again. Your family and God are still going to love you if you aren't the perfect Mama. They don't expect you to be perfect, so why do you? Some days we won't follow our schedule, some days we won't get all the laundry washed and some days there will be dirty dishes left in the sink. It's okay. Relax, take a deep breath and start fresh the next morning. God's grace is new each morning, rejoice in that. Today's challenge is about understanding that we will mess up, accepting that and then moving on. Don't beat yourself up when you get busy and you get off schedule. Don't beat yourself up when you decide to take a play day with your children instead of cleaning and schooling. It's okay! Your home and your chores will be there waiting for you the next morning, start anew. It's okay to have an off day once in awhile, we just don't want that to be our habit. This journey isn't about achieving perfection, it is about seeking God's will and drawing nearer to Him and our families while taking care of our homes. I pray that you will feel God's love when you feel you have failed and instead of listening to Satan's lies you will listen to the Lord's gentle words of encouragement. You might stumble along the way, but He is there to pick you back up again.

Physical Challenge Day E- Examine your to do lists. Remember your to do lists we made on Day B, your daily, weekly and monthly lists? Get those back out because you will need them for today's challenge. Your challenge for today is to examine your lists and decide which weekly tasks you want to put on which day of the week and same for monthly, decide which week of the month to do each task. So, write each day, Monday through Friday, on a piece of paper and then list each task on your weekly list under whichever day you want to do that task. Do you want to mop on Mondays or Fridays and so on. For your monthly list, list weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 on a piece of paper and divide your monthly tasks up accordingly. For instance maybe you will change sheets the first week of each month. Don't worry about doing anything else with your lists today, just get the tasks divided and then you are done. We will put them into a schedule another day.

Let me know if you ever have any questions and I'll be happy to answer them. I love hearing how you are doing so keep the comments coming.

Blessings,
Rashel

  1. Rashel, I just wanted you to know that you are doing a great job with this challenge.

I dont always get to sit down each day and work on my tasks, but now the weekend is here I will try to read them through completely and set myself up to do them! I am making a copy of these posts and placing them in a folder for later reference if I cant keep up. I have made a start on the daily, weekly, bi weekly and monthly schedule.

May God Bless you abundantly like you are Blessing others.
