Scrumptious Steak Bites - THM way

This is one of our favorite ways to eat round steak or sirloin steak. I came up with the recipe when I wanted a gravy like taste without the flour.  It is super easy and the best thing, ALL of my children like it!

This is what it looks like when it is done.

Start by sauteing onions in a little coconut oil.

Then add your steak bites, sprinkle with garlic salt or add some fresh garlic and cook until browned.

Next add 2 cups of beef broth.

It looks like a lot of liquid at this point but trust me, it will reduce down. I bring this to a boil and then simmer for approximately 30 minutes or until most of the liquid is gone.

It is reducing but not quite enough yet.

This is better. You can see the bottom of the pan and the meat is nice and coated with the sauce. Now just serve it up with a salad and veggie and enjoy!

Scrumptious Steak Bites

Slice round or sirloin steak into bite size pieces (however much your family will eat)
Slice onions into slivers
Add small amount of coconut oil to a skillet, add onions and saute for just a minute or two.
Then add the steak, sprinkle with garlic salt or add fresh garlic and cook until browned.
Add 2 cups of beef broth, bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a good simmer. Let simmer for approximately 30 minutes or until most of the liquid is cooked down and the meat has a nice sauce coating.
I usually get this going and while it is simmering, I fix the rest of our meal.

Blessings,
Rashel

  2. What are some things that you usually have with the rest of the meal?

  3. We usually have a salad and a vegetable, sometimes green beans, or it could be mashed cauliflower (made like mashed potatoes). Sometimes I will put out cottage cheese or applesauce as well.
    Thanks for stopping by!
