My Six Week Natural Parasite Cleanse and Detox

Today I started a six week detox and parasite cleanse in the hopes of thoroughly cleansing my body and achieving optimum health. I chose to use a natural approach and not purchase any parasite cleanse products or even herbs. It's not that I think those are bad, I don't; I just don't want to use them this time. I want to try to do it with what I have on hand, if I feel that it didn't work well enough, then I may choose to purchase an actual cleanse later. I researched quite a bit and found several articles about how to do a cleanse by using diatomaceous earth, apple cider vinegar and making changes to my diet; I will reference those articles at the end of this post.

Drying my herbs - more pictures

If you have followed me through the summer, you may remember when I got some really good deals on herbs; if not, you can read it here and another one here. Well, I have to admit I haven't done much with them since they have been growing but I decided I need to harvest and dry them before frost hit; which could be tonight. So, I took some more pictures to share with you.
This is most of it: fennel, spearmint, apple mint, curry, cinnamon basil, sweet basil, lemon basil, purple basil and some of my aloe vera starts off my big plant.

This is a better view of my spearmint and cinnamon basil in the baskets, I have more in paper bags that wouldn't fit in the baskets.

Here is the aloe vera plant I originally paid $5 for. It has grown and given me several starts for new plants. I need to split these two but was running out of time today.

I plan to just hang all the herbs up to dry. Do you have any suggestions? I figured I should cut any blooms off first, but if I'm wrong or if you have better ideas, PLEASE let me know. I am just starting with herbs, so I have alot to learn. Thank you for taking the time to read this far :)

Rashel

Pictures of my garden

Here are a few pictures of my little garden. I know the quality isn't the best but I took them with my cell phone. I hope you enjoy!
On the left with the panel arched over is the canteloupe. The panel that is just standing up is lined with tomatoes and basil plants. To the right of those are more herbs.

The big patch to the right is watermelon. The patch in the back is spaghetti squash mixed with cucumbers and canteloupe. Same as below.

I hope to plant some broccoli, cabbage and a few other fall crops soon.

*On a side note, just wanted to let you know as of tomorrow I'll be offline for a few days. This will be a good time for me to focus on my keeping my home. Please leave me comments anyway and I'll read them when I'm back online.  What do you like to plant in your fall garden?

Even better deals at the end of the day!

So I purposely waited until almost closing time and went back to the greenhouse where I got my herbs (read here) to see if they would come down anymore on their prices. Don't panic about me spending more in gas than I would have saved to get them all at once, the greenhouse isn't even a mile from my house :)  Guess what, I got 8 more herb pots for $.25 each!!! They didn't have any signs saying prices, so I just went and asked them to take less. I said I knew they were already cheap but since it was the end of the day would they come down any and he did! This time I got a few I already had but also got some sweet marjoram, fernleaf dill and chevril.

I just had to share because I'm so excited!

Herb jackpot!!!

A local greenhouse had a huge sale today and I hit the jackpot! I'm so excited with all I got for the price I paid. This first picture shows everything together.

This shows my aloe vera plant that I paid $5 for!!

Here is another picture of everything.

And another view of everything spread out a little. The pepper plant has peppers on it!

All of the herbs are in 2in pots and were $.50 each. I couldn't resist! I got chives, cilantro, bouqet dill, italian parsley, purple basil, creeping rosemary, sage, thyme, lemon grass, spearmint, curry, red rubin basil, cinnamon basil, epazote, salad burnet, sweet basil, lemon basil, fennel, anaheim chili pepper and tam jalapenos. Some I got two of and others I have no idea what they are or how to use them but for that price, I figured I could learn! Now I just have to decide where to plant them or to use pots so I can bring them indoors.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas for me? I am new to herbs to any comments are welcome.

Blessings,
Rashel
