My Unhealthy Indulgence

In keeping with being real, I thought I should share with you what my unhealthy indulgence is.

Yes, I'm a trim healthy mama, I have been for two years!

And I LOVE it!

I honestly don't see myself going back to my old way of eating. I feel so much healthier and vibrant eating this way that I have no desire to go back to my old "S.A.D." ways.

However, I do have one unhealthy indulgence I allow myself.

I could justify it and say "It could be much worse"

but I won't...it is what it is..

I enjoy pop, soda, soda pop - whatever you want to call it.

I now drink diet sodas, coke zero or pepsi max when I indulge to avoid the sugar load, but I know they are still unhealthy.

Now before you think I have a serious addiction, I do drink them only occasionally. In fact I can go weeks without one, then the next week I might have a couple. It really varies, BUT I don't drink them every day. Not even every other day.

It's just one of those personal choices I've decided I'm okay with.

I think we all have those - if we're really honest.

Oh and do you know when I REALLY crave a pop?

When I'm cleaning house!

It used to be my habit to have pepsi, chips and dip while cleaning house - at least I've traded Ruffles for lavash chips and french onion dip for THM ranch dip!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

I'm going back to cleaning house now. Tonight we are hosting our bible study group, so I need to get a few things done.

Blessings my friends,
Rashel

  1. I am a Dr. Pepper soda girl! I don't drink it daily as I use to. Like you I only drink soda occasionally. When I worked for a retail chain I think I drank like 5 or 6 cans of it a day! Since I am now a mother and have a history of diabetes on both sides of my family, I have to limit it to getting one as a treat. I don't want my kids to be sugar addicts so I have had to make some changes in what I eat so they will hopefully follow by example.
I have a friend who like you loves to have her big cup of soda while she's cleaning. We just had a work day at our church & she sent her husband to town to get her a route 44 dr. pepper from Sonic! She told me everytime she's deep cleaning she just seems to want her Dr. Pepper!

  2. Yes, my soda habit used to be a lot worse. When I worked home health, my breakfast was usually at a convenient store that ran sales on a big soda and a candy bar! Those days are long gone, thank goodness.
I love it that your friend has the same quirk as me! Thanks for sharing!!
