If you read my post about our new schedule, you just might be wondering how it has been going. Well, let me be honest and say it has been going bad, but only because we haven't been following our new schedule. When we follow it, our day goes wonderful and SO MUCH gets done. However, it seems that most days we haven't been following it for a number of reasons. Yesterday I told the kids we needed to adjust the schedule a bit to make it work better for us. First of all, they had to put their "getting up" time later because they decided they did not like getting up that early, which threw the rest of the schedule off. So, today we got up and we are following our schedule. Yeah!
I'll also admit that while I love to make schedules, I usually have a really hard time following them. I think I just rebel and decide I want to do my own thing, but that obviously doesn't work when it comes to getting things done. So, while I may not like it for awhile, I WILL follow my schedule and prove to myself just how much more I get accomplished when I stick to it. I've done it, I've seen the proof; but like I've said before, I'm a slow learner :) Another thing I have noticed when we follow our schedule is that our attitudes are better. I think it is because they know they will have free time and because I know when to expect chores/school done and I'm not on them all day to get stuff done. The days we just take it as it comes, I am always on them to do their school or to get their chores done, but on "schedule" days, I can look at the chart and know when things will be done. Does that make sense?
I know schedules aren't always fun, but in this house they make us more productive and more pleasant to be around. How do they work in your home?

Rashel
I would like to make a schedule sometime. Things change so much in our home I don't know how it would go. I might try it sometime.
