They wanted to do it again........

All evening my children kept reminding me that we needed to read again and once one of them headed to get the blanket to spread on my floor. Well, I had to stop him because since my oldest broke his arm yesterday (you can read about that at my other blog, Homestead Refuge), he was pretty much on the couch to stay for the evening. So, after we had eaten, which was late due to all that had occurred during the day, dh turned the tv off and my ds8 got his book and we all sat in the living room while he read to us from "Daniel Boone: Wilderness Scout". My dh helped him with a few words he couldn't figure out but he never got frustrated or gave up, he just pressed on. The two youngest were piled all around and on me while we listened. It was another nice evening and this time it was even more special because Daddy was involved too!! After his reading it was bedtime and some much needed rest after a busy day. I am sure they will remind me again tonight because they have enjoyed that time so much. Maybe tonight we will have a little longer than last night and be able to do a little more, but if not, it is okay. We enjoy whatever time we get and it means so much to them! I encourage all of you to make sure you are spending time enjoying your children and building strong, loving bonds with them while you can. Even if you are busy and your house is a mess, laundry is piled to the ceiling and the dishes need done, it doesn't matter. Leave it, it will be there tomorrow, but your children may not. Show your children they mean more to you than a clean home, stop what you are doing and have FUN with them, smile with them and play with them. You won't regret it.

Blessings to you,
Rashel
