A little about myself and this blog

I want to welcome you to my new blog and tell you a little bit about myself and my purpose for starting this blog. I am a born again Christian and I believe Jesus is God’s only son, sent to die on the cross for my sins that I have may have eternal life, to paraphrase John 3:16 and many other verses in the Bible. I am also a wife to my loving husband and mother to four wonderful children. I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and 2 Timothy 3:16,17 tells me “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” To give you a little history about myself, I was raised by parents that believed in God but we didn’t go to church and I never really understood salvation or being born again. When I had my first son, I decided I wanted him raised going to church and knowing God, so when he was a few months old we started attending church with my sister. It wasn’t long until my husband and I were saved, praise the Lord. We were baptized a month or so later. We kept attending church regularly and came to learn more about the Bible and the triune God. It wasn’t until recently though, that I felt God pulling me closer to Him. I have come to realize that while I knew I was saved and I knew what sin was and the Ten Commandments, I wasn’t really walking with Him. I wasn’t really following His ways, well not all of them anyway. This spring I started really seeking Him, really praying that He would draw me near and show me His will for my life and oh my goodness, has He opened my eyes. I have come to believe that if I truly love God, the King of Kings and creator of all the earth, that I should seek to please Him in every single thing I do and in every minute detail of my life. He has laid out His will for me in His word, all I have to do is search His word and seek Him in prayer to discover what that is. I have come to truly believe in 2 Timothy 3:16,17 and that has made me have a strong desire to seek His entire word and come to know His will for me. Yes, I have freedom in Christ. My salvation does not depend upon my works and nothing I do will save me. All I have to do is believe in Him and I will be saved, I know this. What I have also come to believe however, is that God has a desire, a plan for our lives and it is up to us to follow His desires, He will not force us. If I truly love Him, why would I not want to do that which pleases Him? So my hope for this blog is that it will be a place to discuss scripture, to seek His will in our lives as women: wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. I pray that this would be a place for like minded women to grow in the Word and to share with others. I pray it will be a place that we can edify each other and sharpen each other with the Word. I want us to take Scripture and see how we can live it in today’s world, making it practical in our lives. Those that don't know Christ or have no desire to draw closer to Him, will probably not agree with what is posted here. I will not allow judgment to be passed nor critical, hateful comments. Yes, we are to rebuke our sisters when we see they are not following the ways of God but that is to be done in love and by using the Word of God, not our own opinions and ideas. I hope you will find love, encouragement and wisdom here.

Blessings to each of you.
