Schedule and a HUGE distraction for me!

Ok, our new schedule started off great this morning! Everybody knew what they were supposed to be doing, Mom knew when each child would be doing what, all was happy. Then about 11:30 the mail arrived and do you know what was in the mail? My DVD order from Vision Forum! Now how am I supposed to stay on my schedule and get my chores done with these marvelous DVDs sitting there looking at me? I didn't. I couldn't help myself. I popped in Tea with Michelle Duggar and watched it until lunchtime. I still haven't got to finish it, it's waiting in the DVD player at the same spot I left it. We always watch two certain shows during lunchtime, so my children kidnapped the tv during that time. So, I went in their room during lunch and popped in one of my Homestead Blessings DVDs. I watched the dairy one first because that is the skill I need to learn first with all the raw milk we are getting. I also got soap making, herbs, canning, quilting and sewing. I can't wait to watch all of them, but I can't just sit down and do it all at once. I'm going to have to pace myself, but I'm just so excited!!

Ok, back to our schedule. I really do like it and I think it will work really well. We got off again this afternoon because Thursday is our day to get milk and to go by the library. When we got back home the kids started up with what was scheduled while we were gone and are working hard to get to their break time! I'll keep you posted with our schedule and how it works after a few days of being on it and a few days of actually being home all day :)

Blessings,
Rashel

  2. April, I enjoyed the Michelle Duggar video. I will be honest though and say that I think the advertising for it is a little misleading, but I did enjoy listening to Michelle. I think if you have read their book and watched their show, you really aren't going to learn anything new in this video. Although, I was reminded to praise my children more, to love on them more and to make sure I'm enjoying them as the blessings from God that they are.
Yes, my homesteading videos are the ones from Vision Forum. I've only gotten to watch a few so far, not all 6 yet, but I'm really enjoying them and my daughter is enjoying watching them with me. She can't wait until we can watch the next one!
