My friend Sara invited me to participate in a goal setting project with her. The idea is that we will list several areas in our lives we want to improve or grow in and then list goals for each area. We will work on one goal for each area each month. There are so many areas in my life that I want to make better habits in or that I want to learn new skills in, this gives me the chance to do that without feeling overwhelmed at trying to do it all at once. My list is a work in progress and will probably change as time goes by, but it is a place to start and that is what is important, starting!
Here are my areas and goals in each area. I may change the order that I work on each goal but for now, this is it.
Spiritual
1. Rise early to have quiet time with God.
2. Read through and study one book of the Bible at a time, instead of reading somewhere different each day.
3. Keep my prayer journal consistently.
4. Fast one day a month to seek God's will.
5. Read an encouraging book in the evenings.
Homesteading (also being a good steward)
1. Get my garden ready, then plan and plant it.
2. Make my own soap.
3. Learn to make cheese from raw milk.
4. Find the best prices on bulk items.
5. Keep a record of ALL our expenses.
Personal Health
1. Drink 32 oz of water each day and take my fiber each day.
2. Eliminate all soda.
3. Limit sweets more than I am, maybe once a week.
4. Cut down my raw sugar in my tea, maybe in half.
Family Health
1. Learn more about "Nourishing Traditions"
2. Keep homemade mixes stocked up.
3. Learn more about herbs for health.
4. Try one new healthy recipe a month.
5. Grow our own herbs.
Keeper at Home
1. Follow my home management binder each day.
2. Get all papers filed and organized.
3. Declutter one room each week.
Proverbs 31
1. Make one day each month to sew or crochet.
2. Make a denim quilt.
3. Scrapbook one time a month.
4. Learn new crochet projects.
Husband
1. Pray for him daily.
2. Keep his clothes clean and ready for him. (ironed and put away)
3. Do one extra thing each week to make him feel special.
4. Keep his favorite drink in the fridge.
Children
1. Pray for them daily.
2. Do not raise my voice to them, my speech should always be gracious.
3. Make sure we do Bible time first each day.
4. Do something each week to make them feel special.
5. Make sure I have healthy snacks available for them.
Preparedness
1. Keep my pantry lists up to date.
2. Keep meals in the freezer and ready; meal starters as well.
3. Start buying bulk and store what we use the most.
4. Make an emergency preparedness plan.
Some areas are self explanatory, but others you might be wondering about. For instance, keeper at home is my area of housecleaning and things that need done to or in my home. Proverbs 31 is my area of crafts, such as sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking, etc. Preparedness is not only emergency preparedness but being prepared for those times that life gets hectic and busy as well. I think the rest you can pretty well understand. There are some areas that could overlap and some of my goals could fit in more than one area, but I separated it this way to be easiest for me. Because after all it is my list :)
